ONE DAY
Along she goes
Where nobody knows
Not even her
She's trying so hard
To find the reason
Wanting so bad to understand
Needing to be wanted
And loved
Her soul is quiet
Because it only knows how to scream
Her heart is shattered
And she runs.
Runs hard
Cries hard
Prays harder
Than most of us do
Cause she wants to be proud
She wants to be who she was
With reasons to smile
And laugh till she cries
She wants to be whole
And trusted again
She has it all inside
She knows it
But she's afraid to stand up
And be still
And give it up to Him again.
She's the most heartfelt
Contradiction
Her touch is always sincere
With eyes begging in earnest flirtation
Please sweep me off my tired feet
For one moment
So I can breathe peacefully
In the arms of honesty
And unconditional love
Her smile. It's addictive
Her laugh, when pure,
Can warm the coldest heart.
Her walls are thick
With resenting rage
But bitterness is fading
Thankfully
She is a flower
That's been walked on
But a flower none the less
Planted in a field of choices
That find her every day
She is a puzzle
Held together
By her children’s love
Every day He's on her mind
A God of love that's trying to help
Giving her the strength to shine
And she shines.
There's no doubt...
She shines as bright
As the brightest light
When her heart opens up
In unguarded adoration.
She will survive
If she wants to
Her scars prove
Her courage
And one day
When the process is done
If you can survive the hurricane
For a front row seat to the show
You'll smile with silent tears of pride
And hopefully she won't
Have forgotten you.
